The challenge

Structuring and showcasing a technical range of around one hundred references

Just In Print is a sub-brand of Reflectiv, a French manufacturer of adhesive films. The range is dedicated to printing and signage professionals: printers, sign makers and screen printers. It covers printable vinyl films, transparent films, micro-perforated films, LED backlit films and window graphic films.

The challenge was twofold. First, structure a range of around one hundred references with precise technical data: weight, thickness, dimensions, ink compatibility, application temperatures and adhesive type, in a document that is clear and usable every day by professional buyers. Second, create a graphic identity specific to Just In Print, distinct from Reflectiv, and aligned with the manufacturer's positioning.

A B2B catalogue in the printing sector is not just a presentation document. It is a working tool. Printers and signage professionals need reliable technical information they can access quickly. Readability, information hierarchy and product sheet consistency were non-negotiable constraints.

The solution

Complete art direction and layout for a multi-format technical catalogue

The project started in Figma with art direction and page template validation before any final layout work began. This step made it possible to define the standard structure of a product sheet, the hierarchy of technical information, the colour codes for each product family and the typographic rules applied across the entire document.

The complete layout was then produced in InDesign. Each product sheet follows the same architecture: film visual, product name, short usage-oriented description, full technical specification table including weight, thickness, available widths and lengths, ink compatibility, application temperature, adhesive type and expected lifespan, plus a recommended application area. Visual consistency is maintained across all references, whatever the product family.

The catalogue was delivered in three complementary formats. A high-definition downloadable PDF designed for screen consultation and on-demand printing. A flipbook version embedded on the Just In Print website, recreating the feel of a paper catalogue in the browser. And a printed version intended for sales visits and professional trade shows.

The catalogue in detail

A technical document designed as a professional working tool

Three key dimensions that make this catalogue an indispensable daily tool.

01

Architecture by product family

The catalogue is organised by film families: printable vinyl, transparent films, micro-perforated films, LED backlit films and window graphic films. Each family has its own introduction with shared characteristics, recommended use cases and ink compatibility by printing technology. A professional looking for a film for a specific application can find the right family within seconds and compare the available references on the same spread.

02

Standardised product sheets for fast consultation

Each product sheet follows the same structure. A film visual in context, the commercial name, a short usage-focused description, then the complete technical table. Weight, thickness in microns, available widths and lengths, ink compatibility for solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV printing, minimum application temperature, adhesive type, permanent or repositionable, and indoor and outdoor lifespan. A printer can read a sheet in thirty seconds and make a decision.

03

Three formats for three distinct uses

The downloadable PDF version is optimised for A4 laser and inkjet printing. The flipbook version embedded on the website recreates the page-turning experience with navigation by product family tabs. The printed version is formatted for four-colour offset printing, with bleed and crop marks. All three versions share the same content and art direction.

How long does it take to design a technical product catalogue?

The timeline depends on the number of references and the complexity of the technical data to integrate. For a catalogue of around one hundred references like Just In Print, including art direction, template creation and complete layout, several weeks of production are required. With an Infinity plan, deliverables are handled in parallel across multiple production lines, which significantly reduces timelines compared with a traditional agency.

What is the difference between Figma and InDesign in a catalogue project?

Figma is used during the design phase to quickly validate page templates, art direction and product sheet structure with the client, without committing to final layout work too early. InDesign then takes over for the final layout: paragraph styles, tables, PDF exports and files prepared for offset printing. The two tools are complementary for this type of project.

How do you maintain visual consistency across around one hundred product references?

The key is creating rigorous templates and styles from the design phase. On the Just In Print catalogue, each product family has its own colour codes and each type of sheet follows the same template. InDesign manages character and paragraph styles globally: a style change can be propagated across the entire document. That is what keeps a catalogue of around one hundred references consistent and error-free.

Can the catalogue be updated easily after delivery?

Yes. The InDesign source files are structured so content updates can be made without redesigning the layout. Adding a new reference, changing technical specifications or updating pricing can be integrated quickly. With an Infinity plan, these updates are treated as standard deliverables with a guaranteed SLA.

Do you provide the three formats: PDF, flipbook and print as standard?

Yes. Every catalogue designed by Synerium is delivered in three separate exports: high-definition PDF for download, web-optimised PDF for the flipbook, and print-ready files for offset printing with bleed and crop marks. All three versions are included in the deliverable at no extra cost.
